Bio And Story
Rachel Elizabeth Reader is an independent Christian solo artist, singer/songwriter and a passionate advocate for Women's Rights, Gender Equality and Ending Violence Against Women and Girls. She was born in Cornwall, England and grew up in Perth, Western Australia. Rachel has beautifully soothing vocals and music which enable people to enter into a place of reflective rest.
Rachel is using her music and life story to spread hope, love and faith to her fans. Her own story - one of strength and redemption - started when she was only twenty two years old. She had sold all of her belongings to move from Perth, Western Australia back to England.
But it was in England that Rachel found herself escaping an abusive marriage and seeking refuge and solace in her music and her faith. Having already studied clarinet whilst in high school, in her late thirties she went about teaching herself to play keyboard while studying voice.
Dedicating herself to a lifestyle of worship and faith led to Rachel discovering freedom from the devastating pain and brokenness of her past as well as the confidence needed to perform.
Now Rachel is looking to use her music, life experience and knowledge to help others find the same fulfilment, peace, happiness and optimism she sought and discovered.
Rachel's first music release in 2014 is called Freedom and includes songs she wrote in collaboration with The Sound Consultancy in Sheffield.
In 2015 she released a live recording of a variety of well loved Christmas songs titled The Best Gift which includes the title track that she wrote.
She is currently working on a new Music Album which is available to Pre-Order, various writing projects, as well as working alongside a number of organisations to promote awareness and bring about social change to current laws in the UK concerning Women's Equality & Rights, Domestic Violence and Violence Against Women. To that effect, Rachel is an advocate for a number of charities and organisations.

"Rachel is a wonderful singer/songwriter and so much more. Her music flows out of her pursuit of God and of social justice. Her life story is a powerful testimony both to the realities of what many women suffer and also to the power of God who redeems, transforms and restores. Rachel has a beautiful voice and speaks very clearly and personally to her audience. We were privileged to have her sing at the Annual General Meeting of Restored where she was a vital and much appreciated part of the evening."

"I was very blessed to have Rachel sing at my baptism. Her voice was pure and the words were sung from her heart. Many people after said they could feel the presence of the Holy Spirit in the Church. One lady in particular said that during the baptismal service she could hear the sound of heavenly angels singing. I believe God's angels were delighting in Rachel's voice and the service."

"Rachel performed an hour long lunchtime concert for our church. She made quite an impact with those attending. Her relaxed, friendly style made for a very enjoyable time for all. She helped us raise funds for Chichester Diocesan Family Support Work and the Morning Star Orphanage and school in India, two Christian missions which the church supports. Her beautiful voice and range of songs that she wrote and performed were very moving, we hope to invite her back again very soon."
